As promised I am posting the remainder of the photos taken during Oshie’s bubble photo shoot. As usual they were all taken using my Canon 7d Mkii and my Canon 50mm lens.
Apparently I need more practice with the crazy focusing system that the 7d Mkii has because I was missing a lot of shots thanks to focus issues. It is possible that the lens was causing some of the problems too. Oh well…that is how you learn.

Thanks. Focus was off a bit so they aren’t as sharp as I would like but I am happy with them.

These are great action shots. Lovely how you have been able to capture the playfulness of the dog.

Thank you Otto! I wish they had come out a little better but this was my first attempt at something like this and it was outdoors so I had to work with the light I had. Overall I like how they came out and can only improve right?!

Such a fun series! It’s really cool that you were able to capture the exact moment when the bubble was on his mouth hahaha 🙂
I did a photo shoot with bubbles once and it was really tricky to get the focus right!

Yeah even with the Canon 7d mark 2’s advanced auto focus I was having trouble and it wouldn’t focus directly on bubbles. I still like how they turned out and its a learning experience for next time! Thanks for the kind words!

Would it be easier to use manual focus? I will try that next time.

Not for action shots unless you know the subject won’t be moving any closer or farther away. My camera has one of the most advanced auto focus systems out there…the issue is the photographer…me lol.

Great shots. I’m using a Nikon right now but thinking hard about getting a Cannon Rebel.

Which Nikon? A lot of people get caught up on brand. When I upgraded I stayed canon because I had canon lenses and they only work with canon cameras. If you have a Nikon dslr I would suggest sticking with it and looking into new/better lenses or upgrading to a newer body and using existing lenses. If you don’t have a dslr and want one then honestly any of them at the entry level are Great buys and produce excellent photos.
