4 week old Golden Retriever Puppy

The other day I was going through some of my pictures from last year that I hadn’t made an attempt at editing quite yet and I found this little gem. I took this short video with my Canon 7D Mark II during our trip to Asheville back in April of 2016 and I guess sort of forgot about it. The bed and breakfast we stayed at (http://www.ashevillegreencottage.com/) had a litter of Golden Retriever puppies that were around 4 or 5 weeks old. We were fortunate enough to spend a little bit of time socializing them and I snapped a few pictures that I have shared here in past blog posts.

In this video Nancy had picked up one of the puppies and was cradling it like a baby. It soon fell asleep (I believe they had just finished feeding) and began to bark, whimper and cry. It was too cute/funny not to record. I wonder what it was dreaming about? Enjoy!

Birthday Boy!

Yesterday Oshie turned 3 years old which, depending on the source, is anywhere from 24-29 in dog years. Despite getting older he still has that happy and rambunctious puppy attitude about him.

As usual he was completely spoiled and received a delicious steak and vegetable dinner (fear not the steak was not seasoned it any way).

And after dinner Oshie received a special cupcake because how can you have a birthday without a cake? Nancy made the cupcakes which had peanut butter and carrots in them along with peanut butter for frosting. I will be sure to post the recipe later.

Oshie absolutely devoured both the steak and the cupcake. See for yourselves in the videos below.

Hopefully he doesn’t think that now he will be eating like this every night.

Happy Birthday Oshie!

Passed Out

Another one of my shots from our Asheville trip in May.

Adorable in Black and White

Lighting for this shot was terrible and I didn’t have a flash or tripod so I had to crank up the ISO resulting in a lot of noise in the image. Converting the image to black and white makes it usable and I actually really like the final results.

Is it bad that I am still messing around with photos taken in May?

UXO

This is the sign at the beginning of the path where I like to take my lunch time photo walks at work. There are some spots where I would like to walk off the path to get some interesting shots but I don’t think I want to risk getting blown up. Apparently some of the Ordnance is from the World War II era.
