Golden Retrievers Love Watermelon

North Carolina winters can be pretty wild. One day it will be in teens all day and threatening to snow and the next day it will feel like summer. Then there are the days where the temperature starts off as freezing and by the afternoon it is in the 60’s and 70’s. I love a mild winter as much as the next person but the huge swings in temperature from day to day (and even in the same day) are really annoying.

Enough complaining. Yesterday we saw temps in the high 70’s and low 80’s. The sun was shining and it was gorgeous outside. It almost felt like a summer day. So we decided to enjoy the weather and sit outside with Oshie. We even had some Watermelon to help complete the dreams of summer. I think Oshie knew that we were going to give him some because he was whining before we even had a chance to set the plate on the table and sit down. So you guessed it…here comes another video of Oshie.  Below is a short video of Oshie scarfing down two pieces of Watermelon while wearing his goofy propeller hat. Prepare yourself for the cuteness. As always enjoy and thanks for stopping by.

Go Pro Fetch

My first attempt at shooting and editing a Go Pro video. Not as easy as I was hoping it would be haha. Shot on a Go Pro Hero Sessions and edited in Go Pro Studio. Song was added through YouTube but I am not sure it is the final choice for music. There are too many songs to choose from.

Oshie had a blast chasing and fetching the camera.

Puppy Plunge Part 4

If any of the individuals who attended the puppy plunge went into it thinking that they were not going to get wet…they were crazy. The images of Oshie below display what was happening all around the pool. The best part was when it would happen right behind someone who wasn’t expecting it (which honestly everyone should have been).

Puppy Plunge Part 3

Building Confidence

Oshie loves being in the water but it is the getting in part that he doesn’t like (at least at the pool). At first he wasn’t sure how to get in and would eventually kind of fall in with a little help from me when he just couldn’t get up the courage. By the end of the event he was much more confident and actually jumped in a few times. You can still see the look of uncertainty on his face though.

Puppy Plunge Part 2

Fetch! Oshie had a blast chasing the tennis balls. Many of the retrieval attempts ended in fear face and panicked paddling. He still hasn’t learned to keep himself level in the water so he points up and his front legs flail and splash the surface. The result is way too much energy wasted trying to get to the safety of dry land. He will figure it out eventually. He just needs to raise his butt and use his back legs more.
