Health Report

Last Saturday we took Oshie in for one of his bi-annual checkups. We generally don’t have any concerns and have been fortunate to have such a healthy pup.

He went through the gamut of vaccinations and blood drawings and we also had a small bump under his skin checked (too small to cut off and test so we are keeping an eye on it). We also asked the vet about his panting which he seems to do often. She said it could be related to a thyroid issue and they could run a test for us.

Of course we had that done and we received good news. Everything is normal on the thyroid front and Oshie just gets excited and hot easily (he does have a thick coat lol).

So we left the Vets office with an almost clean bill of health, Oshie is up a few pounds from his last visit so we need to cut back on his food. He also got some pretty purple bandages where they drew blood ha ha ha!

Happy even with purple bracelets.

Oshie and Reagan Fight Over Nancy’s Lunch Bag!

This video has been up for a few days but I forgot to share it here. Enjoy!

Golden Retriever Fact of The Week #5

It is hump day and that means it is time for another Golden Retriever fact.  I have some facts about Golden Retriever height and weight for you this week.

Fact  of The Week

The Golden Retriever falls under the category of large breed dogs. Below are some height and weight stats for Male and Female Golden Retrievers.

Female Golden Retrievers have a healthy weight range of 55-71lbs (25-32kg) while a male Goldens healthy weight range is 65-75lbs (30-34kg).

Oshie pose.jpg
Oshie weighs in at about 73lbs which is a healthy weight for his size. He has a visible waist and abdominal tuck.

Female Goldens reach a height of 20-22 inches (51-56cm) and male Goldens height falls within 22-24 inches (56-61cm).

Of course there will always be pups that surpass these averages. Golden Retrievers love to eat so it is important that owners maintain a healthy diet with corrections portions and plenty of exercise to keep their Golden at the optimal weight.

Sorry I didn’t post a fact last week.

Reagan Is Back And Oshie Is Going To Be A Therapy Dog!

We are puppy sitting little Reagan for the week so naturally we have to include him in our videos! We love this little guy and it is going to be hard giving him back to his dad at the end of the week.

Also Oshie starts training to become a Therapy dog this Friday!!!!

Enjoy the video!

Golden Retriever Fact of The Week #4

Hello! I hope everyone is having a great week so far. I only have one fact to share with you this week. đŸ™‚

Fact

Golden Retriever puppies are the absolute cutest thing you will ever see! Need proof, just check these photos I took of our new friend Reagan!

No he is not ours but we wish he was! He is from the same breeder and rumor has it that his mom is Oshie’s sister which would make Oshie his uncle. He is 8 weeks old and is already clear that he is going to be one smart Golden. He is also the most calm/chill 8 week old puppy we have ever met! Come back next week for more Golden Retriever facts!
