The Face That Gets All The Girls

One of the great joys of owning a dog is seeing their personality as it develops. Their faces can be so expressive, especially their eyes. Oshie’s many different faces are a constant source of entertainment in our house. He makes strange faces when he hears noises from another room or when his ears are getting rubbed. He even makes faces when you say certain words or phrases to him like “do you want” ha-ha. I do my best to try and capture these faces so we can look back on them later an laugh.

Here is one of the faces he does often and it always makes us laugh. I think it is his inquisitive used when he is trying to figure something out like “why is dad sticking his camera in my face again”. Don’t you think this is a face that would drive all the girls crazy?

Oshie’s Day With The Marines!

Here is the follow up video to the last blog post about Oshie’s trip to work with Nancy. Oshie loves hanging out with the Marines and they love having him. His visit might not be completely within the rules (ha-ha) but it is definitely good for morale. I know I would have loved to have a dog hang out at my shop back when I was in.

I remember living in the barracks you couldn’t keep pets of any kind and you could go long periods of time without interacting with a  4 legged friend. For animal lovers and Marines that grew up with pets that can really suck. You also don’t realize how long it has been since you last played with a dog until you finally get to again.

It is pretty cool that Nancy brings Oshie to work every so often. I know he loves it and I know the Marines appreciate it too, especially when Oshie helps them take out the trash ha-ha.

Enjoy!

So Excited!

Every so often Oshie goes to work with Nancy and hangs out with the Marines. He loves going and they love having him. About two weeks ago she decided she would take him in on a Friday. I had gotten all of his things ready and when he saw them on the counter he knew he was going on a trip. Sometimes he is too smart. He knows when the harness/leash are out that he is probably going to be doing something fun. Below is the video of him in all his excited glory.

4 week old Golden Retriever Puppy

The other day I was going through some of my pictures from last year that I hadn’t made an attempt at editing quite yet and I found this little gem. I took this short video with my Canon 7D Mark II during our trip to Asheville back in April of 2016 and I guess sort of forgot about it. The bed and breakfast we stayed at (http://www.ashevillegreencottage.com/) had a litter of Golden Retriever puppies that were around 4 or 5 weeks old. We were fortunate enough to spend a little bit of time socializing them and I snapped a few pictures that I have shared here in past blog posts.

In this video Nancy had picked up one of the puppies and was cradling it like a baby. It soon fell asleep (I believe they had just finished feeding) and began to bark, whimper and cry. It was too cute/funny not to record. I wonder what it was dreaming about? Enjoy!

Oshie loves doughnuts!

Being the spoiled dog that he is, Oshie has developed a taste for the finer things in life like fresh (well maybe not really fresh) doughnuts. On the weekends we usually take a morning drive with a mandatory stop for coffee to fuel the rest of the day. Of course Oshie tags along on the rides because he loves being in the car with the windows down where he can catch all the scents! This means that he usually gets a treat in the form of whipped cream or the occasional plain doughnut. Don’t worry we know they aren’t good for him and he doesn’t get them everyday, but a treat every once in a while isn’t going to hurt right? And it is impossible to say no to that face!

Anyway here is a short video of Oshie, who had already eaten his treat, practically begging for the doughnut that I had saved for myself. You also get to see his newest trick at the end! He has learned speak. Probably the hardest trick to teach so far as he is not much of a barker. Enjoy!
