Just a few cell phone shots of the Sunset here in Los Angeles. Tomorrow is our last day. Ending a vacation always sucks but we are excited to be with Oshie again.
I took this photo of The Broad a museum under construction in downtown Los Angeles last August. I love the architecture of the building but I hadn’t done anything with the photo yet. I processed it in black and white and color but I am not sure which one I like more. I will leave that decision up to you all. Taken with a Canon T5 and Canon 18-55mm kit lens and processed in Adobe Lightroom.
Today’s image is skyline shot from downtown Wilmington North Carolina. Kind of an Odd crop but I like the way it looks so I decided to keep it. Part of my growth as a photographer has been experimenting even if the results are not the best and also sharing those results to help build confidence in my skills.
Shot with my Canon 7d mkii and 50mm lens and processed in Adobe Lightroom.
The weather was awesome this past weekend so I decided to go to Wilmington North Carolina to walk around and snap some photos. It is about an hour away from where we live and it is very photogenic, has plenty of excellent places to eat and to top if off they were having a St. Paddy’s festival.
Well it turned out that the festival was rather small and that I am not that great at street photography. I guess that means I just have en excuse to practice more. So the trip was kind of a bust. I did get some delicious ice cream from a place called Kilwins. Some of the best ice cream ever. I was introduced to it while living in Maryland and am glad they have one in Wilmington. I also had a delicious steak at The George which is a nice restaurant right on the river that is dog friendly (just so you know). However dinner made me miss Nancy because I was eating alone which I have not done at a real restaurant in a long long time. The view and weather and a pint of Guinness however, aided in lifting my spirits.
I do have one photo that I decided might be worth sharing. It is of the Cape Fear River Bridge. I used the in camera HDR function that the 7d mkii has because I was curious and am still learning all the features it has compared to my old SLR. Generally I am not a big fan of HDR but after some quick editing and changing to black and white I thought it wasn’t too bad. Let me know what you think and as always thanks for stopping by.
Oh and next time I will take Oshie and do a little Golden Wilmington Portrait session ha-ha.
