Mexican Birthday Feast

So Nancy made it back stateside in time for my birthday which happened to fall on Easter Sunday this year. She had a small get together for me that included Oshie, me, my brother Ethan and his dog, his roommate Scott and of course Nancy. So yeah it was small but we aren’t really party people ha-ha.

Anyway she knows how much I love Mexican food so we had a little Mexican cookout. She made her awesome salsa verde and guacamole, rice and beans while I grilled the carne asada. Of course there was Mexican beer and Oshie and his cousin Boston (my brother’s dog) were taking full advantage of the jolly atmosphere and getting their fill of the steak.

Nancy bought me some cool birthday gifts while she was in Norway(sorry I didn’t take pictures of them). The first was Norwegian Absinthe and the second gift was a beer Stein from Iceland she bought on their way back to the states. It is sweet and I guess I have to start a stein collection now.

Anyway I just want to get a post up as I have been slacking off again. With spring finally here I will have plenty of new pictures of Oshie and spring adventures to share. Cheers!

Oh and Oshie says hi!

Photographers! Don’t Forget About This!

If you are anything like me and you expected all of your fancy technology to make the daylight saving time change for you then you likely forgot all about your camera.

Some may not care about what date and time their camera is set to, but if you take a lot of photos like I do then having the correct date and time can come in very handy. Don’t forget to make the change!

Photography Contest

So I decided to enter my Pelican Portrait photo into the Popular Photography Magazine month of March best shot contest. I made some changes to it in Adobe Lightroom earlier today to bring out some more features.

I would be grateful of anyone who clicks the link and leaves me a vote! The edited image is posted there and is also the image for this post. Thanks!

As always thanks for stopping by.

Grass Itches

After rolling around in the dirt and grass Oshie developed an itch. Now that I think about it the fire ants could have been the culprit. With the warm weather we have had lately they have come our of their slumber and are everywhere in our yard. I don’t think that was the case though because I didn’t see any on him and he hasn’t scratched at the same area again. If you have ever been fortunate enough to experience the bite and sting of a fire ant…well then you know how itchy it is.

Enjoy this short series of shots of Oshie mid itch. I recently upgraded my camera to a Canon 7D Mkii and have been experimenting with the amazing 10 frames per second it is capable of shooting. My last camera (Canon T5)was maybe 3 frames per second. This is will be excellent for capturing action shots of Oshie to share on the blog! Enough rambling about Cameras, here’s Oshie!

He scratches so hard!

Look at that follow through!

I often wonder how that does not hurt.

Strange Faces 9

The weather was gorgeous this weekend! This meant that Oshie would get to spend plenty of time outdoors. Here is a 2 shot series of him deciding to roll in the grass on a slopped part of the yard. The second shot is the strange face. Looks a little like fear face to me ha-ha.

Oooh dead dry and brown grass is so nice!

Fear face…why am I still rolling?

Have we learned our lesson learned about rolling around on hills then?
