Your Dog Really Is Just A Furry Kid

Nancy and I were at the grocery store shopping for items for a party we planned to attend when she saw the display for bubbles. Yes I am talking about the kind of bubbles you give to little kids and laugh as they try to blow them and catch them. Of course Nancy immediately wanted to buy some because she wanted to blow them for Oshie. Right there folks, that is how you know you are a crazy dog parent.

I assume you already know what happened next. Nancy decided we needed to do a little photo shoot of Oshie chasing the bubbles. The wind didn’t cooperate and the lighting wasn’t the best but I did manage to get a few decent/funny shots of Oshie attempting to catch the bubbles. He looked like a toddler chasing them around the yard and staring longingly at them as they sailed over his head and out of reach. It made me realize just how much Oshie is like a little kid, distracted by everything and always wanting to play.

I wish the focus was just a bit sharper on this one.

I wish I had that much energy. I can do without the double coat of fur though.

Not a flattering look for you Oshie.

Come back down here!

And yes, Oshie is wearing a bow-tie because he is a classy fellow!

I have a few more images that I will put up in a separate post. The blog gets a little slow when I add too many. Of course it doesn’t help that in the past I was using the full size files. Oops!

Day 17: Oshie

HE IS WATCHING! Oshie stares at everyone that walks, runs, bikes or drives past the house. Sometimes he even lays at the sliding glass door with his head through the blinds so he can watch everyone go by. It is funny when we come back from an outing and see his head poking through the blinds. What a goof!

Day 15: Stay Off The Dunes!

The two photos in today’s post were taken in January. The winter was very mild here in North Carolina and there were even a few days that were warm enough for a beach trip like this one. I definitely wouldn’t want to get in the water however Oshie didn’t seem to mind the chill at all. As long as he had the ball to chase he was happy! I was still using my Canon T5 and the Tamron 70-300 lens during this trip.

Just in case you didn’t already know his name.

Day 12: Pelican

This image is probably a month or so old by now but I hadn’t done anything with it yet. This is from another trip to the Marina on New River Air Station. The lighting wasn’t great (bit too bright out) but I worked with it as best as I could. I really liked how the feathers on top of its head were wet and how the sun was illuminating that area.  Shot with my Canon 7Dmkii and the Canon 400mm f/5.6L lens I was renting at the time. Processed in Adobe Lightroom.

Day 10: Oshie

Oshie was concentrating hard on Nancy as she was turning into the driveway. This is his go to stance and facial expression when he notices something but isn’t quite sure if he knows who or what it is. This was immediately followed by him sprinting over to the car so that he would be at her door as she opened it. Shot with my Canon 7d mkii and Tamron 70-300mm lens at 300mm.
