4 week old Golden Retriever Puppy

The other day I was going through some of my pictures from last year that I hadn’t made an attempt at editing quite yet and I found this little gem. I took this short video with my CanonĀ 7DĀ Mark II during our trip to Asheville back in April of 2016 and I guess sort of forgot about it. The bed and breakfast we stayed at (http://www.ashevillegreencottage.com/) had a litter of Golden Retriever puppies that were around 4 or 5 weeks old. We were fortunate enough to spend a little bit of time socializing them and I snapped a few pictures that I have shared here in past blog posts.

In this video Nancy had picked up one of the puppies and was cradling it like a baby. It soon fell asleep (I believe they had just finished feeding) and began to bark, whimper and cry. It was too cute/funny not to record. I wonder what it was dreaming about? Enjoy!

Birthday Boy!

Yesterday Oshie turned 3 years old which, depending on the source, is anywhere from 24-29 in dog years. Despite getting older he still has that happy and rambunctious puppy attitude about him.

As usual he was completely spoiled and received a delicious steak and vegetable dinner (fear not the steak was not seasoned it any way).

And after dinner Oshie received a special cupcake because how can you have a birthday without a cake? Nancy made the cupcakes which had peanut butter and carrots in them along with peanut butter for frosting. I will be sure to post the recipe later.

Oshie absolutely devoured both the steak and the cupcake. See for yourselves in the videos below.

Hopefully he doesn’t think that now he will be eating like this every night.

Happy Birthday Oshie!

Oshie Loves Corn

Just a short video of Oshie enjoying a piece of corn. The way he eats it cracks us up.

Learning Tricks

Oshie is a fast learner. A little repetition with coupled with a reward and he will do almost anything you want him to. Nancy taught him how to play dead in just a few tries a few months ago. He doesn’t get it every time and sometimes he gets so excited that he goes through every trick he knows before actually doing the one you want just so he can get the treat. It can be pretty entertaining to watch.

Here he is playing dead. Not an entirely convincing performance ha-ha.

Puppy Plunge Part 5…The End

When the puppy plunge event was over we took Oshie home, gave him a bath and settled into the living room to watch a movie. Oshie jumped up on the couch with us and couldn’t keep his eyes open.Video proof below. Excuse my stupid narrative, it is hard not to talk to a dog like they are a child. I do enjoy wearing Oshie out because he sleeps for the rest of the day which gives Nancy and I time to relax. Normally he would be pestering one of us every 30 minutes to go outside just so he could come back in ha-ha.
