The video I took of Oshie greeting Nancy when she returned from Norway is on MSN.com (I guess it has been there for a little while but we forgot to mention it)
The video on our YouTube channel has 700,000 views. I think it is safe to say that Oshie has gone semi-viral. He better not let this go to his head and start acting like some pompous celebrity. Besides, Nancy and I already treat him like royalty. How much more can he really expect?

Let me be the first to congratulate you and your beautiful family. The first time I saw this video when you first blogged it, I knew it would go viral. Such a touching video for the world to see and enjoy.

Where you in the Marines too? My father was a Marine during WWII and both of my sons have served in the USAF.

Yes I was. I served 5 years. My oldest brother served, the second oldes is still serving and one of my younger brothers served. Another one of my younger brothers is on a Marine Corps ROTC scholarship and will comission next year. It has kind of become a family thing haha. I am very grateful for your fathers and your sons service. Proud to call them my brothers.

We were all happy to do it so thanks for your support. Everyone is doing quite well. Thankfully none of us finished our service with any issues despite having served in the middle east.

My wife is the only officer at the moment. And i just remembered my oldest brothers wife also served in the Army. Craziest thing is neither of my parents or grandparents served.

That is something. I didn’t serve, but my sons did. I wasn’t old enough until the end of Vietnam and I think most folks were still feeling the fatigue of it, sort of like today. These long draw out conflicts wear most people out. If it’s important enough to go to war over, we need to let the military do their job. Instead politics always seem to gum up the works.
